Every morning, the newspaper chief editor(主编) holds a meeting with the reporters. They discuss the main events(事件) of the day. Reporters are then sent to cover the events.
As soon as the reporters know what to write about, they get down to work. They telephone people and fix a time for a face-to-face interview with them. Sometimes they do telephone interviews. Checking information is very important. They go to the newspaper’s own library to look up any information that they need. This is called “doing one’s homework”.
At the same time, the picture editor decides which photographs will be used for the next day’s paper. All the people who work on a newspaper must be able to work fast. Reporters have to stop working on one story and start working at once on the important new one. They must find out the new information as quickly as possible. Later in the day, everything is put together at the news desk. Reporters return, type their stories into the computer and hand them to the editor.
The chief editor decides which will be the most important story on the front page. Sometimes this will have to be changed if something more important happens late in the day. Word editors read the stories which the reporters have written and make any necessary changes. sp.hnygpx.net/wz_index.php?

Most American students have said goodbye to fancy (高档的)fruits these days.
In school canteens across the country , cheaper fruits like apples and oranges have taken their place. “People are afraid to spend now,” said Linda Morrow, who owns a shoe and handbag store. “They don’t know want the future will bring.”
During the financial crisis(危机), several of the country’s biggest banks have been forced to sell or close. This has made lots of Americans afraid to buy expensive goods. Samira Marino, a restaurant owner in Miami, has found everyone is ordering water instead of juice and more people are sharing meals.
In more than two-dozen interviews with The Associated Press across the country last month, Americans talked about their concerns, from worries about small businesses to doubts(怀疑) about simply making ends meet.(维持生计)
The crisis began last year. Experts think it was because US banks lend money too easily. Last year a lot of people and companies, who borrowed money, have found themselves unable to pay it back. This left the banks, as well as the people who put their money in the banks, without money. Since the banks borrowed money between themselves and even across borders(国界), the whole world was in trouble. This month the US government agreed on a $700 billion plan to try to save the financial market. But no one is sure whether it will help or not. President George W. Bush has warned it will take some time . Last week top finance officials from 20 countries promised to work together to find a way out of the money trouble.
51.Why are people in the US afraid to spend?
              A. Because they think it’s unnecessary.
              B. Because they don’t have the habit of spending money .
              C. Because they worry about their future .
              D. Because they don’t have enough money.
              52.The underlined word “concerns” mainly_______.
              A. worries   B. conditions    C. hobbies     D. experiences
              53.The fifth paragraph mainly _________.
              A. tells what it is like in a crisis            B. explain why there is a crisis
              C. warns people of the danger of the crisis   D. asks people not to borrow money from banks
              54. People feel ______ about the US plan to save the market .
              A. satisfied   B. doubtful      C. hobbies      D. angry
              55. The best title for the story is ________.
              A. Ways to Make Ends Meet        B. The Money Problem Facing the World

There are several exhibition halls in this maze of a complex. The main gallery offers a brief look at several periods of Zhejiang history up to the Communist Revolution. Check out the gallery of Hangzhou native Chang Shuhong at the east end of the complex.  Every holiday, there’re crowds of people who enter China's Wetland Museum in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province. The museum receives an average of nearly 5,000 visitors per day in this summer vacation, 2010. With the exhibition area of 7,800 square meters, it consists of four wetland-themed exhibition halls.
            CD
It’s not the best of museum Hangzhou has to offer, since it’s not as new as others, but in its thirty years of existence, the Tea Museum has seen quite a few improvements. The Exhibition Hall is the main attraction and takes you through the development of tea throughout the dynasties. There are teahouses for you to go into a real hike and a real home-style meal.Anything that there is to be known about West Lake can be found out here: flora, fauna, aquatic life, culture and the influence of the famed waters. The museum is easy to miss from the backside. Walk around the front to the main entrance. But don't try to climb to the top of the grassy hill that covers the structure, or one of the numerous (be of great number) guards might take you out.
              EF
Here you can learn how silk is made, from the worm to bathrobe, then to silk. They've even got a large gallery of looms and several of them in use just to show how it's been done for centuries. After you're finished with the exhibits, check out the shopping area - at least here you can be confident that it's the real deal. The West Lake Expo started in 1927, and though it was not held for 75 years, it is now back to its former glory. This centrally located museum houses many pictures of Hangzhou before Liberation and also tracks those who started it all. Nowadays with the popularity of the West Lake Expo, the museum has won more and more attention.
